A perfect fit for any of our glass vessels. See this Beyond the Burn article for instructions on how to clean your vessel before reusing.

If interested in using our refills for a different kind of vessel, make sure it can handle high temperatures and potential thermal shock associated with candle burning. These are made for container sizes between 2.8" to 3" in diameter (any smaller and the vessel will likely overheat, any larger and your candle will most likely tunnel).

Curing Time

Poured refills are made-to-order and will need 2 weeks to cure for full scent development and proper burning. We will provide you with a "burn after" date for best results, approximately 7-10 additional days after you receive your candle.

Vessels

We can refill vessels that were not originally provided by us as long as they are less than or equal to 3" in diameter for appropriate wick sizing and known to be heat tested and safe. You are responsible for knowing the heat safety/thermal tolerance of your supplied vessel and assume any risk when you purchase a refill. 

If a vessel appears obviously unsafe to us, we may decline the order and provide a full refund on the refill cost itself.

Please note that if you supply your own heat-safe vessel, we will do our very best (very educated) estimate to supply the appropriate wick for the vessel size but do not guarantee a perfect fit. You may notice more tunneling or a vessel that is hotter to the touch compared to our tried and true candles

Scent Strength

Essential oil and natural fragrances will almost always be lighter than typical synthetic fragrances (a feature, not a bug) and will not fill a room as quickly. You can expect our scents to be very pleasant and more subtle, as they are designed to not be overwhelming.

Smaller candles are lighter and better suited for smaller rooms like bathrooms, small offices or bedrooms. Candle aromas may not be as easily appreciated in large vaulted or open spaces, but they will always be lovely ambiance.

Candle Care

CANDLE CARE
A few habits will help your candle burn cleanly and evenly to the end.

  • Our wicks are self-trimming but burn best with a quick trim to 1/4" (6mm) before each lighting.
  • Burn for at least 2 hours at a time but no more than 4 hours to prevent overheating.
  • To encourage an even burn, rotate the candle periodically.
  • If a dark “mushroom” forms on the wick: extinguish, let it cool, and trim before relighting.
  • Keep the wax pool free of debris and fully extinguish your candle with a snuffer.
  • Always burn within sight, on a stable, heat-resistant surface, and away from drafts or flammable objects.
  • Keep away from children and pets, and don't move your candle while it's lit or still hot.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Stop burning when 1/4" (6mm) of wax remains.

Some "tunneling" may occur at the beginning of each candle's life. Our candles are designed to "catch up" as they burn both for safety (so that the candle does not overheat) and to increase aromatic longevity.
